Determine how many metres of fencing you want to install. Based on this length, we will calculate how many rolls are needed. Our fencing is supplied in rolls of 5 or 10 metres, so the total length is always rounded up. If you require a length of 23 metres, we will calculate 25 metres. This will then be supplied as: 5 rolls of 5m or 2 rolls of 10m and 1 roll of 5m.

The French chestnut fencing has more graceful laths of approximately 3 cm thickwith a sharper point. The lath spacing is measured from wire twist to wire twist. As a result, the actual space between the chestnut laths is often 1 to 1.5 cm larger than the specified dimension.

The English chestnut fencing consists of more robust laths of approximately 3.5 cm thick with a blunt point. The lath spacing is measured from lath to lath. This means that the stated dimension exactly matches the actual space between the chestnut laths.

We offer fencing in various heights. The most suitable size depends on what you intend to use it for. For a flower bed or vegetable garden, a low variant, such as 50, 60 or 80cm, is often sufficient. If you want extra security, for example around a pond, then a higher version with a smaller slat spacing is recommended. If you use it as a boundary fence or privacy screen, heights such as 175 or 200 cm are a logical choice.

More information about slat distances

By slat spacing, we mean the distance between the slats. For English fencing, this measurement is given between the slats themselves. For French fencing, we measure from winding to winding, which means the actual opening between the slats is approximately 1 to 1.5 cm larger. French fencing is available with slat spacings of 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10 cm. English fencing is supplied in combinations of 4/5, 5/6, and 8/9 cm.

This refers to the distance between the fence slats, measured from the first coil of wire to the last coil. The space between two slats will therefore always be slightly larger (about 1.5 to 2 cm larger than the spacing between slats).

What post diameter is right for your fence?

You can choose from posts with diameters of 6–8 cm, 8–10 cm, or 10–12 cm. In most situations, we recommend 8–10 cm, as these posts are sturdier and provide a more stable fence. A thicker post offers greater strength and a longer lifespan. Therefore, the thicker the post, the more robust and sturdy your fence will be. 6–8 cm is an excellent choice for lighter applications, while 10–12 cm offers extra strength for taller or heavier-duty fences.

An end point is the beginning or end of your fence. Does your fence have a curve or a corner? If so, that counts as a corner. These areas are subject to greater stress on the fence.

We take the distance and height of your fence into account. You can set your own number as you need

You can choose from diameters of 8–10 cm, 10–12 cm, and 12–14 cm. In general, we recommend 10–12 cm for most fencing projects. For long straight sections, taller fences, or when extra strength is desired, we recommend 12–14 cm. The thicker the post, the better it can absorb the tension of the fence and the sturdier the structure will be.
