Robinia poles: natural and sustainable

Robinia poles are beautiful, durable poles, ideal as a base for a sheep fence , chestnut wooden fencing and as a garden fence. Robinia (also called acacia) falls under durability class 1 to 2, which means a lifespan of approximately 20 to 25 years. Robinia posts have a rustic and natural look and fit perfectly into any garden.

Whether you're looking for a strong garden stake, pasture stake, or fence post, the Lands End robinia stake offers a natural and sustainable solution for your project.

Buy Robinia poles

Buying Robinia posts is easy through our webshop. We supply high-quality posts suitable for any project. Our Robinia posts are often used as pasture posts, but also as the foundation for sheep fencing. Robinia posts are available in various sizes and diameters. All posts are maintenance-free and can be easily installed with a ground auger.

The length of the posts depends on their intended use. Robinia posts are available in the following lengths:

  • 160 cm
  • 200 cm
  • 220 cm
  • 250 cm
  • 300 cm

Whether you're looking for a 160 cm post for a small fence or a longer 300 cm post for a more extensive structure, we have the right size for your needs. The available diameters of 8/10 and 10/12 also offer flexibility in choosing the right strength for your application. Our robinia posts are carefully selected and crafted from sustainable robinia wood. They not only provide the necessary strength but also the unique appearance of robinia wood with its natural weathering and characteristic grain pattern.

Peeled robinia pole

Our robinia stakes are all round and peeled. This means the bark on the outside of the stake has been removed, revealing the beautiful natural wood. Sometimes, some bark may still be present in a few spots.

A peeled robinia stake is durable and very strong. Besides being peeled, the stakes also have a good point. This makes them easier to drive into the ground.

Placing a Robinia pole in the garden

Robinia posts are perfect for your garden or front yard. Our posts serve as a stylish divider in the front garden, preventing direct views into your home. A row of robinia posts in your front garden also ensures your garbage bin, for example, is neatly hidden from view. Our sturdy robinia posts are also impact-resistant and complement tall grasses and ferns.

In the backyard, our robinia posts are often used as part of a sheep fence, but even without the sheep fence, these posts are a durable and natural way to separate your garden.

Want to install your robinia posts and chestnut fencing yourself? Our online store has everything you need to create your fence, from high-quality fasteners to gates and clips. This way, you can easily and successfully install your robinia posts and enjoy a beautiful, sturdy fence for your outdoor space.

When installing a row of robinia stakes in your garden, it's wise to insert the ? of the stake into the ground. This ensures the stake is secure and won't wobble.

Difference between chestnut pole and robinia pole

Chestnut stakes come from the sweet chestnut tree (Castanea sativa), while robinia stakes come from the black locust tree (Robinia pseudoacacia). Although both trees produce hardwood, they have different properties and grow in different regions. Furthermore, both wood types have a natural appearance, but they do have different color and grain patterns. Chestnut wood typically has a warm, light brown color and a distinctive, coarse grain. Robinia wood can range from light brown to dark brown and has a finer grain pattern.

Caution: the bark of robinia poles can be dangerous for horses!
